Sandstr?m, Magnus

Sandström, Magnus The research activities are in two fields, one applied as in the “Preserve the Vasa” project, where the results have attracted world-wide attention in marine-archaeology and in the synchrotron community, with a large number of invited talks since 2002. The other main activity is in coordination chemistry, where solvation and complex-formation of ions has been studied by diffraction and spectroscopic techniques, resulting in publications in high impact scientific journals. For example, new findings have been obtained of lanthanoid solvation of importance for understanding some homogeneous catalytic properties in organic synthesis. Also, development of synchrotron-based sulfur spectroscopy, theoretical and experimental aspects, is performed with potential for environmental and biochemical applications.
