How to publish your own homepage

Copy a template

If you point your browser to www.fos.su.se/~stefan/example/mall_privat.html you will get a very basic homepage with basic information about yourself. When you have the template in your browser choose Edit Page under the File menu.

Now you should modify the page so that it suits you. Working with Netscape Gold or Netscape Communicator is very similar to working with Microsoft Word or some other word-processing program. You have all the standard features you would expect, bold, italic, indentations, inline images Folder image, tables, different font-sizes, font-types - helvetica - courier - times, and for those that would like to describe somthing chemical :), you can type things like H2O or y=2x3-e+5x2. Even make things flash...

To publish your page now just press the publish button or choose Publish under File menu.

Now you need to fill in where to publish your homepage. The username stefan in figure 5 should be exchanged to your own username. The page will be placed on JackD.fos.su.se which is our WWW-server, it will be placed in your homedirectory in a directory called public_html. So when someone is pointing their browser to www.fos.su.se/~username/ they will get a file named index.html and that will be the filename for your homepage. See next figure.
