January 1987 - December 1987: research assistant at the Beijing Laboratory of Electron Microscopy, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing.

C. Professor Competence

I was offered the professorship in materials science/structural physics, Department of Physics, University of Oslo, Norway, 2000 but declined the offer because I got the Research Fellow position at The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (KVA).

Guest professor at Department of Physics, Peking University, China, since September 2003.

Ranked second for the professorship in experimental physics/analytical electron microscopy, 2004 and 1997 at Uppsala University, Sweden.

D. Supervision of doctoral, licentiate and diploma theses:

Co-supervisor of two Ph.D. students, Haixin Sui and Zhimin Mo at the Dalian University of Technology, China. Haixin Sui finished his Ph.D. on January 1996 on “Study of Structures of Approximants in Al-based Alloy Systems” and Zhimin Mo defended his thesis “Study on structures of Quasicrystalline Approximants in Al-TM alloies” on July 1999.

Main supervisor of three Ph.D. students, Tony Conradsson, Liqiu Tang and Kirsten Christensen and co-supervisor of 4 Ph.D. students, Peter Oleynikov, Jeppe Christensen and Juanfang Ruan.

Tony Conradsson defended his Ph.D. thesis “Open framework germanates” on October 18, 2002. Liqiu Tang defended his licentiate thesis “Fluorotitanates, fluoroaluminates and fluorosilicates with N-containing organic cations” on January 15, 2002.
